Germany, Wehrmacht. A 1939 Iron Cross, I Class, 1957 Model Hold 19 mm x 37 mm(Eisernes Kreuz, 1939, 1. Klasse, 1957 Modell). Instituted 10 March 1813 by King Friedrich Wilhelm III of Prussia. A white metal cross paty with blackened magnetic iron cross paty imposed within a white metal hatched border, the obverse centre bears oak leaves and the 6 oclock arm bears the date 1939, the obverse is plain and bears a vertical flat pinback with a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 44. 02 mm (w) x 44. 09 mm (h), weighing 16. 6 g, very
